On Friday, January 18th at 8:30 am stemCONNECT provided a live session from the Orlando Science Center to Central Florida teachers giving them an inside detailed look at Advent Health’s Otronicon exhibit. This live showcase explained the role of surgical robots such as the DaVinci, and how patients benefit from the use of the technology. The Doctors, nurses, and technicians gave a background of what goes into using these tools from their perspective, and how the technology has evolved the industry.
10 Classrooms joined live allowing them to ask real time questions to the Technicians, Doctor, and Directors. Otronicon is an annual event at the Orlando Science Center that takes place for four days trying to engage students with STEM through hands-on technology experiences. Over 800 students and teachers received an opportunity to watch the session live or pre-recorded.
Our stemCONNECT Team wants to thank Orlando Science Center, Advent Health, and all the classrooms who joined to make our first Otronicon a true success!
